NVSHL Championship

Not Just a Championship...We're talking Bragging Rights

If you like High School hockey, you'll love the Championship Game Friday, Mar.2/12 6:30pm at Kettler as Briar Woods tries to claim their first NVSHL title over rival Stone Bridge.

Briar Woods has pranced through the playoff rounds beating Woodbridge last night 6-2 in Reston. After their victory, they rushed over to Ashburn to watch the end of the Stone Bridge/Langley game. They'll need to bring their "hard hats" Friday to win the Championship Friday night.

Stone Bridge did not show up for 2 periods as Langley dominated the play and lead 4-3. As Briar Woods showed up in the stands, they provided the spark that coach Lynch could not find for the top ranked team. Stone Bridge pulled the goalie and tied the game with 51.7 seconds remaining in regulation. With less than 4 min left in the overtime, Trevor Mack calming slide a juicy rebound to the back of the net leaving Faktorow's Saxons heartbroken.
